About Hart of Dixie
Hart of Dixie is a touching and fun American television series from CW about a Dr Zoe Hart whose life takes an unexpected turn when she is unable to obtain a job as a cardio-thoracic surgeon like her father, and instead after a random offer from a total stranger, moves all the way from New York to a small town in Alabama called Bluebell to work at a small medical practice. Once Zoe is in Bluebell, she finds that the stranger she had struck the deal with has passed away and left her his share of the practice.
Zoe has to deal with many different characters, and doesn’t receive what one would call ‘southern hospitality’ at first. Dr. Brick Breeland, who owns the other share of the medical practice Zoe now owns, is not exactly thrilled that Zoe is invading his territory. In fact, he is as shocked to find that his former partner has left his half of the office to Zoe as she is! His relationship with his new partner goes through some ups and downs for sure, but they learn to respect each other as doctors, and as people.
Dr. Breeland’s daughter Lemon isn’t delighted about Zoe’s presence either. In fact, Zoe isn’t exactly happy herself, and plans to leave town until a surprise visit from her mother sparks a resolve to dig her heels in and stay in Alabama for a while. After that, viewers come along for the ride while Zoe learns more about this small town, and about herself.

Zoe does make a few friends along the way, including Lavon Hayes, a former NFL linebacker and current mayor of Bluebell; and Wade Kinsella, a local bartender who lives next door to Zoe and meets her when a party at his place causes a power outage at Zoe’s house. Zoe also meets Lemon Breeland’s fiancé George Tucker, and their interactions are…complicated.
The Hart of Dixie tv series cast is filled with many talented actors. Rachel Bilson stars as Dr. Zoe Hart. Bilson is well known for her role as Summer Roberts on the O.C. The role of her nemesis Lemon Breeland is played by Jaime King. Actor Cress Williams play Lavon Hayes, a former NFL linebacker and current mayor of Bluebell who befriends Zoe. Actor Wilson Bethel plays Wade Kinsella, the hunky bartender and neighbor that Zoe meets not long after she comes into town. Tim Matheson plays Dr. Brick Breeland, Zoe’s new partner in the medical practice. Wrapping up the lead cast is Scott Porter, playing the role of George Tucker, Lemon’s fiancé.
Hart of Dixie has been picked up for a second season, so you can expect to see more of Dr. Hart and friends.
