Awake is a fantasy crime drama television series that airs on NBC starring Jason Isaacs. Awake is revolving around character of Detective Michael Britten (Jason Isaacs) who after regaining consciousness subsequent to his family’s car accident finds himself waking twice to two different realities in one of which his wife Hannah (Laura Allen) has survived and in the other he has survived with his teenage son Rex (Dylan Minnette). Every day he wakes up to different reality and to help keep track as well as trying to keep himself sain Britten is wearing different colors rubber bands in each reality, green for his son surviving and red for his wife. In each reality he has different partners at work (Detective Isaiah “Bird” Freeman played by Steve Harris and Detective Efrem Vega played by Wilmer Valderrama), as well as different psychiatrists (Dr. Evans – Emmy Award winner Cherry Jones, “24″ and Dr. Lee – BD Wong, NBC’s “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit”) who both trying to convince him that their reality is real. For the viewers as a cue scenes in the red reality use warm tones, while scenes in the green reality use cool tones. Detective Britten is trying to use his work as an escape also using realities crossing over details to solve seeminly impossible cases but it also makes him question his own sanity and he doesn’t know which world of Awake is real.

After Season 1 unfortunately this show has been cancelled.
